Hi Team,
I received my ILR in 2024 and was issued with a physical BRP card. I have travelled outside the UK using that BRP card without any issues. I also have a UKVI account and can see my E-visa details correctly.
When I travelled using my e-visa for the first time, I faced a rather unique situation at the border checks at London Heathrow airport. The officer said that when I scanned my fingerprints, it apparently brought up my husband's details instead of mine. She said she had seen this issue with some other couple as well and could be some issue with the E-visa. I reached out to the E-visa helpline and they said it could be that my passport was not linked properly to my E-visa and they helped me sort that. But they had no other information regarding my biometrics.
Since then, I travelled outside the UK once in November and luckily did not face any issue, so I thought everything was resolved. Unfortunately, I faced this same issue again when I travelled in December.
As I did not have issues travelling with my physical BRP, it makes me wonder if there was some technical issue when transitioning to e-visa i.e. if my fingerprints were wrongly linked to my husband's e-visa. Since then I have emailed to several ids, called up the E-visa helpline, general immigration queries helpline, tried reporting it as an error on e-visa using the online form, but have not received any helpful response. I have been going around in circles with no resolution in sight.
Both times the immigration officers were kind enough and didn't seem to think it was a big issue and let me in since my husband was with me. I am just worried it might be an issue if I am travelling alone.
If anyone has been in a similar position or know of how to deal with this, it would be great to hear your thoughts!
