I am currently looking to extend my working holidaymaker visa for a few more extra years. I am hoping that someone here can help me find out how to go about doing this.
My situation is:
I am an Australian citizen who is currently living with my British husband in the UK.
I have working holiday maker visa valid from 20-08-2007 to 20-08-2009. I arrived in the UK on 21-08-2007 with my then fiancé, we were married in the UK on 11-02-2008.
We want to move back to Australia in future but still need a bit more time to get everything sorted first. My visa runs out in a few months but things still aren’t sorted yet (house extension not finished, not enough saving yet ect), this is why we want a little bit more time.
We are both permanent full time workers. I started work on the 5-01-2009 as an ICT technician for the local council here. During the time I wasn’t working I was using my savings to live on. My husband works at the same place as a Science technician for around 10 years now.
Previously I have been on the UK border agency website trying to look up a solution but with so many rules and types of visas I am getting confused by it all. I have tried to call the enquire office provided on that website but have always been told to call back later by their machine.
I think that I should be either applying for an extension to my visa either for a work base permit HSMP or by marriage FLR(M)?.
Advice would be appreciated.
