nikah nama version

Post by mueen_ahmed123 » Wed Apr 29, 2009 1:46 am

hi i need some help.
i got married in march 2008. at that time my name was moheen ahmed, after returning to the uk i corrected the spelling of my name to mueen ahmed. i went back to pakistan in march 2009 and translated my nikah nama in to english. on the english version my name is my new one mueen ahmed. does any one think this will pose a problem when i apply for my wife to come over to the uk.
also my bank statements and payslips are still in my old name, i obviously have a deed poll. what do you kind people think of this. inshallah it will be ok. im just a bit worried.

hi just read ur post..

i think it should be fine as long as you add a copy of the deed poll and explain the situation in the cover letter!

good luck :)

Would be good if you add all the original docs including original deed poll.
For one of my application, they did ask me to submit original urdu and english translation nikkah nama although i did told them that they have already seen my original document in previous application and they should have it in records.
