waiting for past 2 months for ILR/settlement visa

Hi,
I submitted the application for ILR/settlement visa under HSMP category two months back. I got a letter from them immediately with reference number and also the fee is deducted, but haven't heard from home office after that. if I call, they are refusing to answer any questions and telling to call after 14 weeks. I am worried if anything is wrong with my application and don't understand why it is taking so long. if any document is missing, I guess they should inform me about it by now and not after 14 weeks. I am an IT contractor, so I had to submit some extra docs for evidence of finances etc. Is there anything I can do to find out why it is taking so long and how many more days it will take for me to receive the visa? there is no email address to contact. is it possible for it to take 14 weeks, even if everything is fine with my application?
