will Life in the UK Test Certificate be returned after ILR

Post by crazychris » Wed May 27, 2009 7:04 pm

We know that Life in the UK test certificate is required for both ILR and Naturalization.
After ILR granted, will Home Office return this certificate or not?

Home office will note on your file that you have completed the test.

When you apply for citizenship, you will tick the box that you already completed the requirement to be granted ILR.

Regardless, make a copy for your records. The certificate does have an original reference number with it.

Does it mean that if it is not required for ILR (JR2009) but you've passed it anyway, it is wise to include it with your ILR application ? Just in case if you lose it or it expires due to some hypothetical new rules ?
Good luck !
