Inviting a parent: Minimum Monthly Bank Balance

Post by troyguy21 » Mon Sep 21, 2009 7:06 pm

Please guys I need your advice particularly from anyone with a similar experience.

I left my home country 5 years ago on HSMP. Thanks to God and HSMPForum (JR), already got my ILR back dated to last year.

I have never travelled back home to see my parents but would like to invite my mum to visit. This is cheaper for me than taking my whole family back home.

As the sole sponsor I know I have got to send some months bank statements/Pay slips etc.

Housing her wont be a problem. I will be financially responsible for everything.

Please what is the minimum monthly bank account balance I MUST have for the past 6 months in order to qualify as a sponsor.

Also how many reasonable number of weeks can she apply for? I don't want her application to be refused so I count on you guys experience.

Many thanks.

i dont think there is a minimum amount, well at least the HO dont say what is acceptable, obviously if you are in debt then you will have problems but having loads of money as well doesnt guarantee anything. A lot of the onus is on whether your mum will go back after her visit so she basically has to prove that there are 'sufficient ties' for her to return home to.
another factor to consider is that, in my opinion, applying for these visitors visas is somewhat country specific. so you would be best talking to pple from the your home country who have gone through the similar process who will give you 'local requirements'.

Anyway if you post your query on Immigration for Family Members you should get a better response
