Fiance visa questions.

Post by R&L » Sat Jan 21, 2006 1:20 pm

I am in the US and my other half is a UK citizen living in the UK. What proof can I send along with my fiance visa application? I know the basics like bank statements, proof of mortgage in the UK, statement from the place we plan to marry but what else can be sent to prove that we with to marry and be together in the UK? I read a few past posts on here and they said to send pictures of the couple together, statements from the family, phone records, cards and/or letters from eachother. Is their anything else that I am missing that I could send to help me get my visa? I read on the immigration information site that there is no such thing as too much proof but I cant think of what else should be sent. Thanks in advance

To get your fiancé visa you will need to pass a number of tests :-
  • your fiancée is settled in the UK ... a British Citizen or with ILR?
  • the financial test is passed .... to show that you will not need to claim certain Public Funds
  • the accommodation the two of you will occupy is "suitable" and certainly not overcrowded
  • there is "evidence of contact" ... don't skimp on this ... prove to the ECO considering your application that yours is a real relationship .... and is not a "marriage of convenience" (or won't be after the marriage has happened)
Isn't all that clear from the INF4 Guidance Notes?

What happens if the sponsor is a British citizen resident overseas?

JAJ, we are told that :-
my other half is in the UK
-: so I was just trying to get some assurance that the person is indeed "settled" in the UK.
