Will new rules apply to work permit holders ILR ap

Been seeing this lady talk a lot on parliament today, and I would like to ask all you pros out here .... When the new laws come in, which could cut off the link between work permits and permanent residency, do you think such a law would be effective on newly issued tier 1 /2 applied from now on, or will it effect people like me who are on a 5 year work permit (granted in sept 2006) - when I apply for ILR next sept? Am still on the same work permit with the same company, and I don't intend to change jobs.

At this moment of time there is absolutely no information about that. I remember that Tories supported transitional measures in Labour's immigration changes in 2009 (which they now cancelled) - so hopefully they will do the same now.
