On a Lighter Note......

Post by Wanderer » Sat Mar 04, 2006 11:15 pm

My Russian partner now has a residence permit here until October 2008 as avid readers of my posts will no doubt be aware. She has now registered with the Police as per the requirements of the permit and has been relieved of 34 quid.

The terms of this Police Registration say she must carry it with her at all times or be liable to a 5000 quid fine and/or six months in Prison. So, I was thinking.....

If I get fed up with her, and knowing she has left her Police think in the car again while we are shopping in ADSA, can I perform a Citizen's arrest and take her to the coppers?

I was also asked to register with the police (as you know Argies are notorious terrorists). I think the only reason for that requirement is generating money for the government.

Never used mine, other than for ILR purposes.

I have deleted a couple of posts in this topic. It seems someone did not catch on to the humour in the opening post. This is called "On a Lighter Note......"!

You can - but most probably you will find out that about 90% of police do not have a clue what this certificate is about :)

That's true mate, our local nick had no idea and sent us to the Big City!

I wonder how many people don't bother...
