how should i prevent my husband from getting remarried?

my marriage is registered in india. me and my husband got separated and i m now planning to go back and live in india but my husband lives in uk. my marriage is not registered in uk. is it true that my husband is not legally bound to me now because we have been separated and we will be living in different countries? if my husband remarries in uk is he allowed to do that without getting legally divorced from me? what autorities should i inform in uk and in india that i m married to my husband so that he may not be able to get married again without divorcing me?
