Getting married - visitor visa

Post by bigblue » Wed Apr 12, 2006 8:52 pm

Im getting married to my fiance in India in October this year. Im a British Citizen by birth. I have Permanent residency in Canada and will be making Canada my permanent home after the wedding. I am going to sponsor my wife to join me in Canada on a permanent residency basis.

However, I was hoping to be able to bring my wife over to the UK on a visitor visa after the wedding to meet my friends and family over here, then she will go back to India and I will sponsor her directly from Canada.

How should I go about bringing my wife to the UK? I was thinking of going along to the British Embassy with my wife for the application in India for the visitor visa.

Is there any documents that I should take with me from England?

I think merely evidence to substantiate that it really is just a visit to the UK that is contemplated .... and evidence that there will be enough money to actually pay for the trip.

Clearly a visitor visa is the correct type to apply for .... just prove that and I would not expect any problem getting the visitor visa approved.
