ILR and Citizenship

Post by pnlakshmi » Mon May 23, 2011 1:00 pm

I have valid tier 1 visa till 2012 Sept.

I am eligible for ILR in August 2011.

Can i apply my self for PR now in Aug and make my dependents stay on tier1 dependent till Sept 2012 and apply for citizenship together?

Unless one is granted settlement, he / she cannot apply for naturalisation. So, your dependants cannot apply for citizenship without first being granted settled status.

Depending on the circumstances of your dependants, if they have for instance lived here for two years, please endeavour to do the ILR with yours.
