UK Family Visit Visa

Post by bagsarun » Tue Jul 12, 2011 8:35 am

Hi, I applied for a family visit visa for my mom and dad to visit their daughter and son-in-law in UK. I applied for this visa on the 6th July at the VFS office in Delhi and all the biometrics for my mo and dad were done there. The person who attended us at VFS said that it generally takes 2 to 4 weeks for the BHC to process a Family Visit Application these days.
Is this really true? Do they take that long? I remember that whenever I applied for a Business Visit visa, I got the answer on the 4th or 5th day.
Does anyone have any recent experience with applying for a family visit visa at Delhi BHC office?

I applied for my mum in last week of June and got her visa on first week of July which took about one week though we were informed about the same time line.

I think it also depends on person's history of travel if she has travelled before as well then it shouldn't take that long.

my mum had already travelled to UK three times before and twice to canada so that kinda helped...don't worry this is a normal time frame as one of my fren's case took three weeks but he got the visa...do just want and hopefully it should be fine!
cheers
