Hello
I am a new user and I hope you can help
I am a white British citizen and my husband is Indian, we had a religious marriage and had our marriage registered under the special marriage act.
I went with my husband to the British high Commission to submit our documents for spouse visa, and I was careful to give them everything they needed. Even down to 1 year’s worth of personal e-mails, and phone call cards, bank statements, work contract, tenancy agreement.
When we collected the passport back two days later we were given a letter saying that my husband will need to go to an interview. I asked if my documents were ok, and was told at counter that they only needed information from my husband.
Can you tell me if this is a normal part of the procedure for a spouse to be interviewed? We have heard some spouses are not interviewed.
Does an interview give us cause for concern?
What will the interview be like?
Is it a concern as I am Christian and white and my husband is Sikh and Asian?
We are both finding the distance and time apart very difficult.
