Foreign Administrative convictions

Post by Rolfus » Wed Sep 14, 2011 12:19 am

In the UK we have criminal convictions, and fixed penalty convictions. In other European countries there is also a category of administrative offences. These countries make clear in their criminal code that an administrative offence is not a criminal offence. The idea, like fixed penalty notices, is to get people to pay a fine rather than fight to protect their good names.

Many of the foreign administrative offences do not involve behavior that would be prohibited in the UK.

When answering "Do you have any criminal convictions" should you declare overseas administrative convictions?
