I'm stressing about this 4 - 5 year rule change and also thinking of my options as I have sacrificed a lot to live and work here and suddenly HO drops the apalling news of ILR to 5 years which inconsiderate for us already on the system. I have posted this information some days ago but it seems that someone came in with a reply but off the topic and I guess mine just got hidden so sorry for posting it one more time
I've been a law abiding "citizen" , do everything by the book and worried that if HO can issue a rule retrospectively , what next? the point system? then what?
My situation is I'm on my 4th year on my WP, in a relationship with someone with EU nationality(Poland) ,we intend getting married sometime soon , next year will be 5 years on WP and then I should qualify for ILR BUT if HO refuses for some reason , what do I do if I'm married to my girlfriend who is of EU nationality? DO I have to leave the UK? What can I do?Can I continue to work in my job in the UK ? What permit can I go on ? is it EEA?
