visa appeals

Post by mindymitt » Sun Oct 30, 2011 5:19 pm

Hi i am new the forum.. hope someone can give me some info on a visa appeals..
My daughter lived in Turkey for over two years where she lived with a turkish national. They are engaged and planned to marry in april of this year, but unfortuanlly due to my mother being ill they called off the wedding and applied for his visa so they can settle and marry here in great britain. He was refused his visa due to a problem with his english test and my daughter was not 21.... we appealed as now he has pssed with flying colours his KET test and my daughter is now 21.. I am sorry to say my mother has now become very ill and my daughter has come home to be with her, she has also gained employment with 3 jobs. we have sent letters asking for the visa appeal to be brought forward, as time is not really with us.. so far they have not bent and will be looked at after Jan 5th.. has anyone one any advice on how we can try and speed up the procces.. we feel we have tried everything. Look forward to any help please..

Appeals will only look at the evidence that existed at the time of the decision to refuse the visa rather than what has subsequently occurred or been done to address the reasons for the refusal . If she was under 21 at the time of the refusal, being 21 now at the time of the appeal will not be considered on appeal. If he had not passed a qualifying English exam at the time of the refusal, having subsequently taken and passed a suitable exam will not be considered on appeal.

I suggest that you re-apply with the new circumstances as it will be much quicker than waiting for an appeal that I can't imagine will be successful

visitors visa

Post by mindymitt » Mon Oct 31, 2011 1:15 pm

I too am looking at a visitors visa for my future son-in-law... i agree the amount in his bank account can vary so much. I have also been told that the applicant has to have insurance.. is this correct too?

It is recommended that a visitor buys travel / medical insurance but it is not a requirement for a visa application.
