Offered a job in the UK, but how long for work permit?

Hi!

I've been offered a job in the UK (hooray!), but the company needs to advertise the job first. (I got the job through contacts vs. an advert.) They are using a work permit agency that says it shouldn't be a problem. But realistically, how long will the process take?

Any advice is much appreciated. Thank you!
