Regarding WP application

My Work Permit ended on Jan 26 '07.

My new employer applied WP on Jan 25th 07. First HO replied the employer, asking for few more details the very next week of the application made. The employer replied positively.
Now we are expecting the verdict from HO regarding my WP. First they told us..they will reply on Mar 8th 2007. Now they told us, they would reply on Apr 8th 2007.

Will they really take this much time to decide?
