ILR Year Calculation (Spousal 5 year route)

Post by Carterbell » Tue Aug 20, 2019 5:05 pm

Hello, I'm an American citizen married to a British citizen. I've just begun my FLR(M) and am on the 5 year partner route. Before I began my LTR visa, I was on a 1.5 year long student visa -- does anyone know if it is possible to use your time on a previous visa towards your ILR year calculation? I have 2.5 years left on my current FLR(M) but am wondering if it might be possible to apply for ILR early due to my time on the student visa. I have lived in the UK full time since Aug 2015. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Many thanks!

No, as time spent under different visa categories can only be combined for 10 years long residence.
