Search function

How does one search for a term consisting of more than one word, e.g. "home office inspection"?

the instructions are not really clear (to me):

Place + in front of a word which must be found and - in front of a word which must not be found. Put a list of words separated by | into brackets if only one of the words must be found. Use * as a wildcard for partial matches.

You can try +home +office +inspection

You could also use google.com, if our search engine seems insufficient:
go to google.com and type:
"home office inspection" site:immigrationboards.com

unfortunately this doesn't work - it brings up separately each of the words (in this example there are 800+ hits) rather than the term consisting of the 3 words. In Google it is easy using "...".

As the search function for individual words, and usernames, works very well indeed is there any chance of addressing this issue?

I think it works just fine. The problem is that these words can't be found together in any threads besides this one, that's why you are getting other results.

try this search:
+ILR +eligibility
there are 9680 hits made up of each of the two words separately as well as the two word term
