Stamp 4 refusal, appeal?

Hi all,

Got refused on a Stamp 4 visa with non-EEA girlfriend, living together almost 1 year, together for 2 and a half but one year or
so long distance with one visit during this time.
Visa was rejected because of this one year thing, we applied before they brought in the rules for 2 years living together, which might help in the appeal.
Do you think its worth submitting reams of Skype chats and FB chats for that time apart?
Gonna talk to some immigration lawyers soon too.
