How early we can to renew garda card

Dear all,

I am a non-EU citizen who currently living in Cork, Ireland. My garda card & re-entry visa expire in 31 August 08. I would like to apply Schengen visa/country which need the Garda expire at least 3 months after my visit.

I explain to them I can't renew Garda card/re-entry visa before it's expire. But they can not understand. I already go to Garda and explain the situation, but they stubornly said that they can not renew before it's expire and other country visa it's not their business.

It is strange to me because it's mean I have to stuck in Ireland in the last 3 months before my card expire. I try to be a good residence as well (renew bfore I become illegally residence here).

Anyone face same problem? Any suggestion?

i think it is really not ireland problem if you are about to go somewhere it is a lawfull impedement from other emabssy and you can't get your visa renewed now as you still have two mor months on your card.I know the immigration women in cork are rude, pathetic and stubborn but here they can't help you despite their all above qualities..sorry mate time to go to Spam!!
