EU2 application proof of residence (lived here since 5 years in a row)

Post by Jeff 7158 » Sat Nov 07, 2020 12:46 pm

Hi Guys,

I lived and work in Ireland since 5 years and 1 month in a row now, i got some questions about the proofs of residence.

They asked for all the P60 and i got them, do they count as a proof of residence as well?

I have to provide 3 different proofs but can it be the same type ? like 2 rental agreements ? 2 letters from employment?

Can i use a mobile phone bill? Reference from previous landlord stating the months i was a tenant there ?

The thing is that during the first 2 years i was sharing the flat and internet was included i didn't get electricity bill either but is was debt on my account if i got the statement with electric Ireland direct debt does it works?

Thank's for the help.

:)

Wow that’s the first EU2 application I have heard of in a very long time.

You just need to follow the document checklist page of the application form.

There is no such requirement as ‘3 different proofs per year’. That’s for citizenship applications only. Did the EUTR department specifically ask you to submit these documents?

If you read the checklist page, you will see that these are the requirement documents:
- P60 for each year
- Employment letter
- Landlord letter for the period you lived there, preferably along with the original rental agreement
- Utility bill (if you don’t have them, you should ask the landlord to specifically mention in the letter that the utility is included in the rent). You can also submit bank statements which include daily transactions.

Mobile phone statements are not valid utility bill statements. You can literally sign up to a plan from any provider from anywhere in the world.

Re: CMU1 application proof of residence (lived here since 5 years in a row)

hi,

Thank you for you reply, sorry i make a mistake it's not EU2, its CMU1 citizenship applications for EEA national based on the 5 years residence. I'm from France.

All right:

First year i got -1 reference letter from my landlord confirming the date of my stay
- 1 social welfare letter for the PPS
- 1 letter from the bank for new account
- 1 letter from employment and the P60

2nd year : - 1 rental agreement
- 1 go car bill with my adress
- 1 work contract but without my adress
- 1 letter from revenue, 1 P60
- 1 new tenancy letter can i use it?
- 1 bank statement

3rd year : - 1 bank statement
- 1 landlord reference
- 1 P60 and 1 letter from revenue
- 1 new work contract with my adress
- 1 internet bill
- 1 rental agreement

4th year and 5th year: 1 internet bill
1 electricity bill
1 bank statement
1 p60 and letter from employment

I everything ok to use? does the p60 count in the 3 different proof of address? thank's for the help :)

Ok the standard citizenship application is called Form 8. I don’t know where you got this CMU1 but I presume it’s from one of the Citizenship correspondence unit by either email or letter?

If your P60 comes with your address on it, you can use it. All others sound good.

Hi Litterr,

Yes indeed, form 8 they told me to put CMU1 on the letter when i send it sorry for the confusion and i can't edit the title of the thread :(

Ok i understand name and address on it, and can i use 2 different proof but same type ? like 2 rental agreements? during one of the year i live in 2 different places.

As well if i go to the bank and ask a bank statement from 2015, they can edit it with my name and the 2015 operations, but it will be with my current address and printed in 2020 does it works as a proof for 2015?

Thank's , Appreciate your help :)

You can use the same type for the same year if you lived in two different addresses.

For bank statements, it really depends on the bank.

My understanding is that they should hold a record of you for the last 7 years and they must be able to give you your records they have, which would include any of your previous addresses. Whether they will print your old address on the old statement, that is a question for the bank. Even if they cannot do that, they should still be able to give you a record of your old address and the period when you lived there on a separate sheet.

Oh that's great, it's clear. i will go directly to the branch to check that with them.

When they asked proof for each year, they count by calendar year or rolling year?

I came the 1st of October 2015 it's gonna be :

3 proofs for October 2015 till October 2016

or 3 proofs for October 2015 - December 2015 and 3 proofs for 2016?

I didn't find the answer on the website.

Thank you for the help :)

Rolling. People tend to use the same or similar months for each year (e.g. use every January’s bills).

Great, it makes the things easier. You been a great help, thank you very much.

Otherwise the rest of the form is clear and straightforward.

Maybe a last question about the referees, they have to be Irish nationals or they can be EU nationals?

Thank you.

They must be Irish citizens.

And by the way don’t worry too much about the proofs of addresses. Even if you provide all 3 proofs for each year perfectly, there is still a big possibility that they will still ask you to provide more documents (sometimes the same documents) during the application processing stage from time to time.

I did that 2 years ago. All communications are by post, although I heard some people now receive email correspondences.
