Naturalisation: Have they asked to see your passport?

Post by bloody foreigner » Wed Oct 22, 2008 2:49 pm

Hi folks,

When we applied we all sent in copies of our documents.

Did anyone, at any stage, have to show the original documents, particularly your passport?
If so, when and to whom?

Thanks

BF

Friends who have completed the whole naturalisation process (up to the issuing of the naturalisation certificate) have told me they were never requested to present original documents. Copies were the only thing needed.

I think that is why we sign the application before a solicitor/commissioner for oaths... to make sure that what we send is kind of authenticated.

Thanks LuasPassenger,

I thought as much.

I'm not going to comment on what is obviously wrong with this :?
