Stamp 4 and work permit for spouse

Post by greenrussian » Sun Dec 12, 2021 11:01 am

Hello everybody,

As stated here https://enterprise.gov.ie/en/What-We-Do ... nt-Permit/

A dependant, civil partner or spouse of a person who was once a holder of a Green Card Employment Permit, Critical Skills Employment Permit or a Hosting Agreement, but has now received permission from the Department of Justice to be in employment without the requirement for an employment permit or Hosting Agreement is also eligible to apply for a Dependant/Partner/Spouse Employment Permit.

I'm, the partner, have been employed for 5 years in Ireland on General Employment Permit and this year I got a Stamp 4 (used to be Stamp 1). I used to think that above scheme doesn't apply to us because I'm not a Critical Permit holder, however Green Card bit got me a bit confused. Does this mean that since I have Stamp 4, my wife (stamp 3 right now) can have an easier process of getting a permit?

Thanks and apologies if this has been asked before.

I see. So, I take it that the part here:

A dependant, civil partner or spouse of a person who was once a holder of a Green Card Employment Permit, Critical Skills Employment Permit or a Hosting Agreement, but has now received permission from the Department of Justice to be in employment without the requirement for an employment permit or Hosting Agreement is also eligible to apply for a Dependant/Partner/Spouse Employment Permit.

still means that if I was previously on General Employment Permit, my spouse can't get permit on that basis?
