What happens if I don't pay the 950 euros after being granted citizenship ON TIME (house moving)

Post by brbzull2 » Sat Jul 27, 2024 3:28 pm

Hi guys, I moved to a different house and in the middle of the redirection arrangements they send me the letter that I was granted citizenship, and I have to pat the 950 euros, they also said that this should be paid with in 10 days of letter issued, which this was about 2 months now.

not sure if this can just be paid now following the original procedure, did this happen to anyone? I may contact them directly, but we know this will take time for thme to answer so wonder if anyone else had the same "issue".

Best regards.

Does it really say pay within 10 days? Or does it actually say pay within 10 days to be considered for next ceremony. If so, the letter itself tells you what happens.

However, I don’t even believe that paying after 10 days would necessarily put you out of contention for the next ceremony, but that’s the worst that could happen.

There’s no set payment deadline. If you don’t pay within a reasonable timeline - unclear what that is, but let’s say 6 months- they can consider you’ve decided not to continue and withdraw your approval. However if you were having trouble paying you only need let them know you do intend on paying and giving them a payment date and I’m sure it would be fine.

So just pay it now and you’ll be fine. Note you will not get second acknowledgement now. No-one has recently. No-one knows when they will send the second acknowledgement.

Agreed, it is a common enough issue and the only impact is that you likely missed out on attending the June Dublin ceremonies. See below topic for another person with a similar query viewtopic.php?f=34&t=349374&sid=476cd99 ... a201721f96

FYI: that letter does not grant you citizenship. It proposes to grant you citizenship if you pay and attend the ceremony. You will ONLY be granted citizenship on the day of the ceremony. Good luck
