Illegal - English Course to College

Post by digbar » Mon Nov 04, 2024 10:27 am

Hi all,

Hope people can help out a friend of mine.

I have a non-EU friend who has moved to Ireland on an English Course Stamp 2. A lot of things happened. He came to Ireland and COVID came. He had to go back home as her mother died with COVID, then returned all legally.
Now he's illegal. He loves Ireland and would very much make his situation legal. He has no one back home and has created a good place to live here.
So he was wondering if he would be able to enroll in a higher education even being illegal. Or if there is anything else he could do to make it legal.

I'd appreciate your help.

Thanks a mil.

Hi,

Enrolling in a school will not impact on his Illegal status. If he tries to apply for a stamp permission with school, he will put himself on radar.

*Instead your friend should either marry an Irish/EU citizen or have a child with 1 of this group.

*Your friend should apply for asylum with reasons his parent died and he has no one back home. His life is in Ireland. He can then use his higher education enrollment as another excuse.

Hope this helps.
