US Citizen and working in Ireland.

Hi,

I am Irish and my hubby is American and we currently live in Texas. We plan on moving home next year God willing.

Here are a few things I need to know if anyone can help me.

Will it be legal for my hubby to work, if so what do we need to apply for?

How long will he be legally able to work before he becomes a citizen?

How soon can he apply for citizenship and how long does it take to get it and where and when do we apply for it?

Is there anything we can apply for before coming home to get the ball rolling?

Are there any work visa's for American's to apply for to allow them to work in Ireland?

hi,

When you arrive to Ireland you tell immigration officer at the airport that you are married and are planning to settle in Ireland. You both will have to go to your local immigration officer or GNIB if in Dublin and your husband would be able to get stamp 4. the usual documents to present would be passports for both of you, marriage cert, etc.
when your hubby gets stamp 4 he will be allowed to work in Ireland without the need of any work permit.
