Regulation (EC) No 539/2001 & travel to Ireland with spo

Hello All,

Have been looking at above document after reading thru some interesting info on this site. I am UK born, want to travel to Ireland with my spouse, who is from St Lucia. He is in St Lucia at present, I am going over again next month and we might just travel to Ireland together from there, hopefully with no hassle en-route I cant understand for the life of me from this document, whether he needs a visa to travel to Ireland from St Lucia or not, not to mention whether airlines will expect him to have a visa before boarding? There is a list of countries, but due to tiny print & long winded wording above, cant work out whether its saying said countries need a visa, or dont need a visa..can anyone shed some light on this (or do I need specs?). Thanks!

Your husband doesn't need a visa to Ireland and all Schengen countries for that matter. See this.

Thank you so much for reply. From St Lucia we have to travel to France and catch flight from there to Ireland; had visions of French authorities also wanting to see a visa. Think I will print out relevant info and carry with me just in case, and have a good look thru INIS site too.
