Boyfriend is Irish I am Brazilian

Post by juliamc87 » Sat Sep 26, 2009 5:01 pm

Hi I am new here, I have reading loads of topics but some seem to be a bit older and I think some new immigration rules have come up since.

Well I am Brazilian and I have been living in Ireland for 5 years, ~I studied English for one year and then I did a FETAC levevl 5 course and now I am doing a HETAC degree, I have een dating my boyfriend for four years and he just finished his degree in UCD.

Our worry is that I am going to finish college next summer and we were supose to be living together ths year but because of the recession my bf;s dads comapny went bankrupt and he had to stay to help his parents, besides that I am staying here renting one of the rooms for a better price so they dont hv to rent for a stranger.

Anyway I wonder if there is any type of Visa that we can apply? We want to get married but we are only 22 and this recession also made my bf be defered from a 3 year accounting trainning program...

Does anyone knows if there is any option in this case? I am a first class honours student hv never worked more than the 20 hours allowed and my parents support most of my stuff here.

Is De Facto the only type of visa we can apply?
