Can Stamp4 WorkVisa b renewed without Profession Restriction

Post by redbluehat » Sun Nov 15, 2009 1:05 am

Hi there,

I have been living in Ireland on Stamp 4 Work Visa (ICT) for the last 4 years (approx.) which is due to renew in a month or so.

I'm working on full time job at the moment and just wondering if there is a possibility that on my next renewal upon showing all required documents, it could be renewed for same two years extension without any restriction of profession i.e. ICT, to work in any profession due to uncertainity of Job Market in I.T.

I'm just wondering if any of you or know anyone who would have extended Stamp 4 Work Visa same way recently or if any of you have any suggestion/advice for the above would be great.

Any idea if above could be explained to GNIB without harming the existing entitlement of usual two years extension.

Your prompt reply at your convenience earliest would be helpful.

Thanking you with best regards.

If you have been on the work authorization/ working visa scheme for 5 years, you may get an "open" Stamp 4 under the new scheme. I am not sure if 4 years would qualify you though.

See details here

Thanks 9jeirean for your reply.

The link you sent me is for Stamp 4 work Authorisation people who have been made rendundent.

My scenerio is different that I'm due to renew my Stamp4 Work Visa for the 3rd time (for 2 years extension) and I have a job at the moment which will help extending my visa for another 2 years but in the same Profession i.e. ICT. If you can see below link under Section 2 for "Work Authorisation or Working visa holders with less than 5 years immigration permission and who are made redundant"

http://www.inis.gov.ie/en/INIS/Pages/PB09000191

Both point 1 and 2 applies if someone have been made redundant but doesn't say anything who are still in employment & wants their visa extension for two years without any restriction of Profession.

Please help if you know more about this.
Regards.

Apologies. I posted the wrong link. You have provided the link I was referring to. However, if I understand your situation correctly, you only have 4 years yet, which means you'll have to wait another year to be eligible under the scheme. The only other option that may offer you the open stamp 4 is LTR and takes up to 24 months to process at the moment and even at that you need to have 5 years on WA/WV or WP
