My British husband is in uk and I am Chinese wife in china, we plan to move to Ireland as I have been refused a uk visa. Can I apply for Irish visa and once I get visa my husband in uk can travel to Ireland with me from china, my husband doesn't want to be in Ireland alone while looking for a job

What area is your husband working in? Sorry to tell you the bad news, but things are not so good in Ireland in the moment. Unemployment is rising, the country has huge personal and public debt, and there is no prospects in certain areas like construction, finance and the hospitality industry(read hotels restaurants etc.). Of course there will always be opportunites in some areas like medical professionals and acedemics.

You could get a student visa and enroll in a third level college there. I think you can do that for six years. However, you will have to pay high college fees. I am surprised you have been refused a visa for the UK since you are married to a UK citizen? Holiday visas are for three months. I am not suggesting you outstay your welcome however, should you go to Ireland this way.

hi, i am in the same situation as you are, been refused the uk visa and we are going to live in Ireland. My British husband is in UK right now and i am in Russia waiting for my Irish visa. You must apply for your EU family member visa from China.

Hi Daiqi,

Your husband has the right to move to Ireland to work. As his wife, you have the right to join him here.

As a PRC national, you will need to obtain an EUTR visa from your nearest Irish mission.

You will have to submit your passport, your husband's passport and your marriage certificate. A passport photograph may also be required but requests for other documentation can be safely ignored.

The EUTR visa is free of charge.

Hi

My husband is waiter, will he able to find job? Also can i work, would i need to be paying tax if i work in chinese restaurant? I am worried we will be refused irish visa as well. Do i submit my husbands actual passport or copy?

It's not impossible, but with the current economic climate jobs are scarce.

Contrary to popular belief, even those who work in Chinese restaurants have to pay tax.

You can only be refused if you pose a threat to public policy, public security or public health.

If i have to submit husband actual passport, does that mean he will have to post it to me in china then i post back to him for to travel? One reason we was refused for uk visa is that they didnt believe our marriage was real, can ireland do the same?

You have the right to apply and to be issued the visa immediately.

If you are worried that your marriage might be viewed as not genuine, you are welcome to submit as much supporting documentation as you wish.
