Join spouse visa application, PhD student visa

I (non EU) am a PhD student in UCC, my wife (non EU) is going to apply a join spouse visa. somebody told me that it is difficult for her to get a visa, because I am a student. Is that so? but also there are some successful cases. wish to get some addvise for such application
