Where Sponsor is Irish Citizen, income required ?

Post by JohnX » Mon Oct 22, 2018 10:47 am

Hi,

From INIS Policy Document on Non-EEA Family Reunification

where sponsor is Irish citizen,
Quote
and must over the three year period prior to application
have earned a cumulative gross income over and above any State
benefits of not less than €40k. unquote

Does this mean 40k per year average or 40k spread over the three years ?

Thanks

John

The word cumulative would imply 40k spread over the three years but that's just my opinion. Best check with INIS

cumulative gross income means all together for example
year1 10k
year2 15k
year3 17k

cumulative income 42k hence you qualify to sponsor your immediate family

Hi,

Yes, thanks for confirming, was my understanding as well. Heading off tomorrow to Embassy to hand in application and had last minute panic attack.

Full Para
Where Sponsor is Irish Citizen
17.2 An Irish citizen, in order to sponsor an immediate family member, must
not have been totally or predominantly reliant on benefits from the Irish
State for a continuous period in excess of 2 years immediately prior to
the application and must over the three year period prior to application
have earned a cumulative gross income over and above any State
benefits of not less than €40k.
So, not counting any welfare payments average of 13.3K per year required for past three years - No Problem :D
