Urgent help!!

Post by Subziro » Fri Jul 19, 2019 10:56 am

Hi,

I received recentely a letter from INIS saying that I have to resubmit my passport and my wife's passport and evidence of rent payment. They were saying they need them to finalise the application to get my stamp 4 basis on marroage to an Irish Citizen.
Does anyone what does this means? How long they will take to answer?

This means they want you to submit your passports and evidence rent payments. It’s quite normal.

Hi,

Thanks for your response. Does that mean they are nearly finished?

Thanks, but what I have seen from people, they always ask to resubmit all original focs again. I am just wondering?
I really want this nightmare to finish.

As littlerr said, it's normal to be asked for specific documents. If INIS hasn't asked for all your documents it's because they don't need them. There is no such thing as"always" with INIS.

Hi,

I’ve recently got a letter stating the same.
Given that we have to submit our original passports I’d imagine we will only have to wait a few weeks for a reply.

Hi,

Thanks guys for your replies, I hope that it doesn't take us too long now. Hopefully in the next few weeks. It was stated on my letter that they are finalizing the application so hopefully soon. Please let me know if you hear anything.

Have you contacted a solicitor about this?
Are they still currently holding you and your spouse’s passports?

It said on our application that they were also finalising our application so I think it should be pretty soon. I’ll drop a post here when I get the letter. Could you please do the same? :-)

No I didn't contact a solicitor as everyone were saying that it makes no difference. I sent my and my spouse's passport the day I got the letter asking for them, but in my letter they just requested the 2 passports and proof of rent payment for 2019. What did they ask you to send?

I will let you know as soon as I hear anything, I ll post it here. Good luck, hopefully some good news soon 😊

I think you’re getting mixed up with threads.
We are referring to applications to remain in the state based on marriage to an Irish citizen.
Your application is about citizenship.

Hope you hear something soon.

They asked us for our passports, bank statements, proofs of address and recent payslips. As I mentioned above; we’ll probably hear their final decision in a few weeks.

@Subziro - actually if I could ask a favour - would you mind private messaging the person who sent you your letter please? I’m curious to see if it is the same as mine

Hi again,

I’m just curious - on your letter did it say you qualify for a stamp 4 for 12 months or 36 months?

Ours said 12 months but that we could renew next year.

Hi,

My letter is the same as yours 12 months and you keep renewing. I think that's what they give now, and next time you renew the immigration officer will give 36 months, thats what I heard.

Ah grand - that isn’t so bad then.
Was worried I was going to have to book appointments every year.
Thanks for your response! 😄
