19 months is quite a long time, but I am pleased you have succeeded in the end.

You are not alone, I am aware of some late 2019 applications which are still pending.

It’s crazy that this is taking too long. Maybe even longer than naturalization process.

Hello Guys , they approved on 09/08/2021 and I applied on May 2020 my application but the problem is:

I confronted my husband about cheating on Friday 13/08/2021 and asked for divorce and he threatened to murder me if I left him. he destroyed the apartment . he was waiting for me on the street , I called the guards to take home to collect my passport as I was afraid to go by myself . the guard game inside took my statement and forwarded me to the judge , the judge banned him from the house for one week and we have a court date on family court next week.

Is this going to affect the approval, what to do?

Hello Claire,

Congratulations on your approval.

You got the permanent residency independent of your Spouse, the recent issue should not affect your residence Permit.

It is important that you save every available evidence you have as a back up in case the department wants to drop a dodgy hand.

Cheer up, take care of your daughter and may God see you through this trying times, remember this period will pass

Hi Claire,

Congrats on the approval.

I think as AAP1977 is saying that permanent residency approval based on the person so once it’s approved you think really need to worry about it but if you have any doubt I think it would be best to consult with a lawyer. However it shouldn’t be a problem.

Hello , thank you for replying back to me. me and husband legally separated this week and I dropped the case against him on the court. I have applied online(Dublin area) for the IRP card and I sent the permanent residency approval letter on 13 august 2021 but I didn't hear back from them. can anyone advise on this. solicitor confirmed that this should not affect the approval of permanent residency

It's only been 2 weeks so I wouldn't worry about anything just yet. Wait for another week or two and you should hear back from them.

It's been almost a month for me, I really want to send them an email but don't know whether I should do it or not, I don't wanna sound like I'm pushing them or anything. Plus, I don't know if it's the same thing for everyone.

You said you only sent it on 13 August - that's less than 2 weeks. You can of course contact them and it won't affect your application in any way, but it's guaranteed that you will not get any response until at least 3 weeks has passed since all documents have been received, as that is the published timeframe.

A minor correction - you won't receive any response until at least *4* weeks have passed. The published timeframe states that a straightforward application is usually processed within 15-20 working days.

I am not the OP that sent the applicant on 13th. I sent it in the beginning of Aug, made it a month at this point without a response.

I'm thinking about sending an email tomorrow. Wonder if everyone is experiencing the same thing, which is being delayed or longer than expected.

Apologies I obviously didn’t check the username well. It’s a bit delayed but still roughly in the region of 4-6 weeks as far as I am aware. There is no harm asking them.

As I expected, today I received the refusal email. They said they won't be able to grant me another temporary extension and told me to wait for the result from the SOI.

Any idea on what to do next? You think I should send an appeal email or it's already done for me? I'm a mess right now.

Did you live with your wife in another EU country before? If not, why did you apply for EU 3?

Hi everyone,

I take nobody got any news about their applications?
We are at the 18 months mark now

@Harley06

Did you mention you got approval after sending a few emails to EUTR?

I just sent couple ot letters each weeks because in those 18 months of period, I really didn't bother them except asking extension to my permit. After sometime, I started to complain about the process and sent multiple letters asking some concrete update. After couple of weeks, got the approval. If they won't reply you then l, definitely seek a legal advise. After 2 years you have right to send a mandamus. Hopefully you won't need that.
