Are we still eligible to work as contractor under T1E visa?

Post by KevinCh » Thu Mar 26, 2015 12:44 pm

Hello everyone, I am a UK qualified Architect holding T1E visa from May of 2014 (Before new rules changes) and set up my own LTD company work as subcontractor/freelancer with other practice. I am hoping to find a good employer/job which allow me to transfer my visa to normal T2 and I will get my 10 years PR next year before T1E extension.

Recently, I have read the article said "No more contract work for Tier 1 Entrepreneur visa holders." http://1st4immigration-visas.blogspot.c ... ier-1.html

Is that true or it is only for new applicants or some occupation? I believed like UK qualified Doctor, Accountant, Architect should be OK work as a consultant with other company.

Any advice will be appreciated.

Anything which binds you to a Specific schedule is considered employment by home office with this statement in policy guidance I seriously doubt if it's allowed

Just checked previous posts. Different people understand in different way.http://www.immigrationboards.com/uk-tie ... 26089.html

"I have just checked with UKBA/Home Office on the phone just to be sure again.

And they have reconfirmed it.

They confirmed to me that you can work as a contractor/consultant on a client site or anything you name it and in any business..(for the 200k route)

As long as you only remain an employee of the business you have setup and are working on its behalf.

So this sorted. " - rahulsingh1

Don't believe anything is gospel from a phone call to UKBA, you will have spoken to a drone and without any written confirmation it's foolish to treat it as valid.
