Volunteering Whilst on Tier 1 Entrepreneur Visa

Post by paranoidman » Sun Jan 24, 2021 3:27 am

Hello all,

I know that we are not permitted employment other than our own businesses but could we possibly volunteer for other companies?

Not sure if that counts as employment or not in a strict reading of rules so wanted to get some opinions.

Any form of employment for other businesses is not allowed. Merely being a volunteer should not be a problem

Volunteering for charitable or social causes is a long way from unpaid work. The OP has stated that his volunteering is for companies, therefore engaged in business therefore it is not volunteering but unpaid work.
As unpaid work for a third party it would be a breach of the visa conditions.
