Urgent Spouse Maintenance Advise Needed

Post by wazee89 » Thu Aug 12, 2010 11:35 pm

I have to apply for my wife's visa on urgent basis as she has been undergone a major surgery and doctors warned her that she could only conceive at the end of September and not after.

I had almost lodges an application when i found out that i have to show a minimum of 533£ funds available for the last 3 months which must be either on her name or on my name. Unfortunately, i didn't know abt this rule before so terribly upset.

i called a solicitor this morning and he claimed that if my wife attaches a bank statement of her father for the last 3 months then this would be acceptable as a proof of her maintenance funds.

Please help if this can be used as an evidence.

Also my Tier 1 PSW is expiring in february 2011. will this be an issue?

Please advise asap.

i request all senior members and moderators to help me on urgent basis.

Can he support his claim?

Personal bank or building society statements covering the previous three-month period seems to say otherwise.

it clearly shows that the bank statement must be on my spouse's name and whatever the solicitor is claiming is a false statement.

Is there a way out?

PLEASE ADVISE.........I WD BE GRATEFUL OF ALL OF U

Only if you can show maintenance funds in any of the following combinations (of bank accounts).

Main applicant = Sole account in own name or joint account.
Adult dependent = Sole account in own name or sole account in main applicant's name or joint account.
Child dependent = Sole account in own name or sole account in either parents' name or joint account with either parent or joint account of parents.

Thx sush and others. fortunately my wife has a fixed deposit account which has more than 533£ for the last 3 months.

I will apply this monday. Just a quick question....i have been living in this country since october 2007 but did visit home country in feb 2010 for 70 days. does it mean that now i have lived in this country for less than one year and i ll have to show more than 533£.....? OR IT doesnt matter?

What i learnt from the forum that i only need 3 docs to apply for my wife's visa...
1.Marriage Certificate, (certified by whom? is it to be embassy certified?)
2.Bank Statament showing 533£ for the last 3 months
3. My PSW Visa copy

Tenancy agreement, payslips and everything else is not required and i shud't supply them when they are not asked.

am i going the right way forward?
