Query about acknowledgement letter. Kindly help

Post by sanilsahadevan » Mon Jan 18, 2010 11:10 am

Hi,

I posted my visa application with all the essential documents on 14th January (Thursday) by royal mail special next day delivery. I checked the status of my post on royal mail's web site and it says deliverd on 15th (Friday). Now I am awaiting the acknowledgement letter. I was expecting it today but didnt.

Should I wait for some more days for the acknowledgement letter? Is it normal? :(

Thanks for replying.

Did you try calling the home office to ask them about the acknowledgement letter? All my friends who applied for PSW Visa received their acknowledgement letter in 2 days. I dont know why its taking so long in our case.

Yes I called on Friday... They asked did I send it by recorded delivery and that i should check post office tracking number. I checked and according to post office they received it on 6th... The guy from HO said that they can't tell me anything and they can't help me...

Btw, I sent all relevant documentation: bank statements with balance above £1,500, MSc degree from King's college...I shouldn't be worried but I am..

Does anybody know in which case they don't send aknow letter???

Even I did send all necessary documents with bank balance more than £2200. I see no reason why they cant send an acknowledgement letter.

Anyways, is there anybody else you know personallly or in this forum who has the same issue as ours?

Acknowledgement letter

Post by potterbond007 » Mon Jan 18, 2010 4:59 pm

Dont worry too much.. It sometimes gets misplaced in the mail. The main thing is that the home office has received your applications. Just wait for your visa to come through. Just to be on the safe side, call the Home office and check if your address has been written right..

There is no time limit for HO to acknowledge your application. It was received on Friday and may not be touched that day, they reimain closed sat. monday is the first fresh day. Did you expect that they must have posted it out same day they received it? Do you know how many applications that was received same 15th? and do you know that they must study your application to make preliminary validation, before they will send you ACK?

Cool down it will be on it the way probably within the Week, no panic yet.
Good Luck.

regarding the visa

Post by amit_mahay » Tue Jan 19, 2010 12:11 am

I am in a similar situation too except that there is one major difference!! basically i applied for my post study visa on the 14 of this month (14/01/2010) and the documents got delivered the very next day but the problem is that the amount of £500 has not been deducted from my accon=unt till today. i was expecting it to be deducted today but it hasnt been....can any1 tell me how long does the home office take to deduct the application fees from the applicants account?
and please note that i paid through visa debit card.
a quick reply will be much appreciated.

I have seen it happen on the very same day that the HO received it and also in a period of like 2 weeks. So I guess u should wait.. If you got ur acknowledgement letter and the HO said that they received it, then u should be fine. Just keep 500 pounds in your account for them to withdraw any day..

delays in getting my acknowledgement from home office

Post by Ifeomaloski » Tue Jan 19, 2010 10:36 pm

 I applied for student visa extension on the 6th of January, but have not received any reply from the home office as to whether they have received my application. I tracked online via post office website and saw that the item has been delivered. However, I have not received any letter from the home office acknowledging the receipt of my application. What do I do? Anyone with some ideas please?

same here amit. I check for mails everyday first thing in the morning. But then I console myself by thinking that maybe HO is really very busy with hell loads of applications. anyways just hoping for the best.
