Benefits for new family.

Post by lserrano » Tue Jul 22, 2014 1:20 am

Dear members,
I (Spanish) have been married to my wife (English) since 2010 and we now have a 1 year old son. We receive the usual child benefit but no other benefits at all. When chatting to friends, they tell us that we are entitled to more support but nobody is quite sure what our entitlements are. I work on my own limited company as a security guard and my wife works part-time employed in finance. She is willing to leave work to raise our kid(s) at home and I'd be willing to go full time, well, as long as there would be any benefit/support for that. Any views on what/how to do things in order to better benefit from our situation? Would be better if I left work and she went full time or maybe even if she leaves work and I could employ her as an assistant to my company on very low wage so we can prove her very low income? We are confused as there are too many different rules and terms on those IR/JC websites. Thanks in advance, Lawrence.
