What benefits? Partner made an FLR (FP) application.

Post by alex_stav » Sat Jun 27, 2015 10:19 pm

Hello,

There is a following situation: I have Permanent Residence since 2013, been working as a self-employed since 2007 and currently claim Working Tax Credit (WTC) as a single person. I am as well a full time student, graduating August 2016.
My partner has no status (please do not judge) and has just made an FLR (FP) application, no decision has been made yet.
We had our daughter born just a few weeks ago and I have an appointment with the Registar next week, then will apply for a passport for her.
My partner is obviously cannot work and will not be able for quite a while.

My income now (summer holidays) is about £800 a month, during my study I got student finance (about £1000 a month). It is not enough to survive for us.
What benefits can I claim, providing my partner's status. I believe, I need to make a joint WTC claim, but afraid will get rejected (partner has nothing at the moment).
Will I be able to get some support with regards to Housing Benefit?

Any advice is appreciated.

Regards,
Alex
