What benefits can my husband apply for?

Post by firefly1 » Sat Feb 28, 2009 11:07 am

My husband is on a 2 year spousal visa and has been (wrongly) convicted of a crime.

He has bail in a bail house and is expected to pay for his rent and bills there which total £100 per week, unfortunately he cannot come home.

He has been working previously in the time he has been here so I am assuming he can claim contribution based jobseekers allowance?

I am on benefits myself so basically we cannot afford to pay for his bail house plus bills, can anyone advise what he can claim for as we are obviously living apart at the moment.

Thanks in advance.
