Jobseeker allowance for Full-time student...

Post by tothetop76 » Mon Mar 22, 2010 6:36 am

Just want to find out if it legal or normal for a full time student(British) to still claim jobseeker allowance?

I am almost nearing the completion of my spouse visa(flr(m),and will be applying for ILR soon, just want to find out if it allowed for my wife who is full time student to still claim jobseeker allowance...

Because i don't want anything to affect my ilr application...Thanks

Full time students cannot claim Jobseekers
That is right, and to make it clear, that is absolutely nothing to do with immigration or your visa status.

tothetop76, your wife is British, and entitled to claim any benefit that her circumstances dictate she is entitled to. but that does not (currently) include JSA.

My brother unknowingly did the same thing.

Enrolled in college full time and tried to claimed JSA. Outcome for refusal.

Logic answer is!! You can only claim JSA because if are looking for job.

Being a full time studen you can not look for job so no JSA.
Arrived UK in Dec 2000, Received ILR Oct 2008, Citizenship Approved March 2016.
