Child Benefit and Tax Credits query

Post by atshambashir » Wed Jul 20, 2011 1:00 pm

Hi,
My wife has just switched her Fiance visa to a 2 year spouse visa via the premium service at the peo at Birmingham.
We are soon to have our 1st child and wondered whether we can claim the following benefits: 1. Child benefit (under my name - as i'm a british citizen)
2. Working tax credit ( jointly ) 3. Child tax credit ( jointly).

The main concern is if this will affect my wifes application for ILR in 2 years time.

I currently am working part-time and according to the benefits calculator I will be entitled to these benefits upon birth of our child.

Thanks for the reply, I just worried when seeing the visa stating no public funds.

Also when I complete the SET(M) form, which boxes in the public funds section, do I tick- under the applicant or partner columns (to declare which benefits)
