Tier 1 General to Tier 2 General

If I am already working for an employer (who is a Tier 2 sponsor), can they sponsor my Tier 2 general without doing the market test? I also assume that they can use unrestricted CoS?

you can switch from T1G to T2G but RLMT will be needed unless an exemption applies. For the exemptions see p20 and onwards of the policy guidance:

thanks Manci. However, on page 16, it says that Assigned Certificate of Sponsorship having met the requirements of:
• A resident labour market test exemption; or
• A resident labour market test by the sponsor; or
• An extension - Continuing to work in the same occupation for the same sponsor

The last clause -- is that only relevant for people who are trying to renew their tier 2?

yes, the clause you are referring to is for T2G extensions. You are on T1G and are not sponsored.
