tier-2 ICT (LTS) curtail leave to remain

Hello all
I was granted a Tier-2 ICT (long term staff) and entered the UK on July 30 2013, valid till July 29 2016 with Company ABC. Now a Company XYZ has given me an offer for a job in the UK, willing to sponsor my Visa. Salary - £45k + perks.
I am looking at curtailing my leave-to-remain. Will the cooling off period be 12 months? or lesser?
I would like to know if I can switch to Tier-2 general. I suspect that a cooling off period may apply.
Secondly, if they give me a European work-permit but expect me to undergo a 6-month training (skills transfer), can this be done? Or will the cooling off apply again?
Is there any other way in which I can re-enter UK? i.e. will my business visit visa be granted during this 12 month period? Can I visit as a tourist?

You cannot switch to T2G in-country, you would have to apply from home country after 12 months cooling-off. During the cooling-off period you can come to the UK as a business visitor or general visitor if you satisfy the requirements for these visas.
