Annual Pay-rise Question

Post by trueblue19 » Sun May 18, 2014 2:33 pm

Hi All

I have been in UK on Tier 2 Gen for about an year now. I'm due my annual appraisal this month, and it is likely that my pay will increase.

Is there a requirement to notify/update this change in the Sponsor Management System?

I know that a nominal pay raise is permissible, and thus not require the need to notify.

However, what if the pay-rise is significant? Lets say, 20-30% [Not that this will definitely be the case, but well, as they say, Hope floats.. :D]

Will appreciate if someone can share their experience/thoughts on this.

Thanks

Going through a similar situation right now, and the policy guidance is very murky in terms of specific information. The guidance states that anything beyond 'annual increments' or 'bonuses' need to be reported, but I'm guessing that annual salary increments at certain employers might be greater than the standard. For example, I'm a teacher, and my salary will increase exponentially next year due to the fact that I'm now considered a qualified teacher, so all of my years of experience get tacked onto a new pay scale. In the education sector, this is normal, but my employer will report it just to be safe. Still, what is required of sponsors on this matter seems a bit to generic.

Okay, I have an update now. My annual increment has been substantial (We are talking about a raise of almost 15%).

Is there a requirement to reflect this in the SMS or can 15% be considered as a 'normal' payrise.

Would appreciate a response on this.
