Tenancy agreement proof for Dependant visa

Hi,
I came to UK on few days back on Tier 2 general visa.I am staying in my friend's house and I would like to file for a dependent visa for my wife.As part of the maintenance and accommodation requirements,I am submitting the following documents

- My bank statements for the last 90 days where the funds are maintained
- My wife's bank statements for the last 90 days where the funds are maintained
- A letter from my friend saying he is ok to accommodate me and my wife for the first one month after my wife visits UK
- Letter from my A rated sponsor stating that he will provide accommodation if required and spend not less than 630 pounds on my dependent if required.


As I came to UK just before few days, I didn't rent any property and am staying with my friend.I read in many forums that all are submitting tenancy agreement as a proof for accommodation for the dependent. As am staying with my friend,I don't have a tenancy agreement but my friend is happy to give a letter stating he is happy to accommodate us for one month and there is enough space in his house for the same.

Can some one please suggest if tenancy agreement is mandatory even though I submit the above mentioned documents? Please suggest.Your suggestions will be really useful to me.
